Frequently Asked Questions
Are these fertilizers?
No. The products are grouped as enzyme-based bio-stimulants.
What is an Enzyme?
A biological catalyst that speeds up the rate of chemical (biochemical) reactions.
What is a Bio-Stimulant?
A substance or micro-organism that, when applied to seeds, plants, or the rhizosphere, stimulates natural processes to enhance or benefit nutrient uptake, nutrient efficiency, tolerance to abiotic stress, or crop quality and yield (Biostimulant Working Group). Enzymes are bio-stimulants.
What are the components of the products?
The products mainly contain enzyme complexes, nutrients, and non-ionic surfactant (in some cases), and inert materials. The specific composition of each product is found in the guaranteed analysis report.
Can these products be used in an organic agriculture?
Yes. These products (Reclaim, Renew, Enhance, and Microplus) are all United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) organic certified.
Are there any environmental concerns associated with these products?
These products are formulated to be applied to soil and plants (and not for human and animal use/consumption) and if used as intended, pose no threat to the environment. Information provided in the Material Safety Data Sheet should be adhered to. Laboratory reports further attesting to the safety of the products are available upon request.
Do the products contain any toxic metals or elements of concern in toxic quantity?
No. The products are completely free from known toxic contaminants such as arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, lead, molybdenum, nickel, and selenium.
What is the certification of the laboratory used by Summerlin Green and Catalyst Green USA?
The laboratory is accredited in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The accreditation typically demonstrates technical competence for a defined scope and the operation of a laboratory quality management system.
Why are your products superior when compared to other bio-stimulants?
Most bio-stimulant products are inoculant based, meaning they contain live organisms. The bio diversity of a soil is incredibly vast, in one teaspoon of soil there are more living organisms than people on the planet. Adding a few different types of living microorganisms to a soil can be beneficial, however not efficient. Which is why we take an enzymatic approach. We treat the entire spectrum of the soil biome, feeding what is already existing, greatly increasing those populations which in turn vastly increase soil health allowing for increased crop yield, quality and carbon absorption to bring soils back to life significantly aiding our planet.
Do the products contain live organisms?
No. They contain no live organisms.
How are the products stored?
The products are relatively very easy to store and handle. Do not store in temperatures above 120F for long periods. Keep out of direct sunlight. Do not store in freezing temperatures.
Do the products contain any synthetic sources?
No. The products are all sourced from natural resources.
Why do the pH of the product generally appear acidic?
The pH of the products is adjusted with weak organic acid (e.g., citric acid) to enhance the bio availability of the active ingredients and to stabilize the enzyme complexes. pH doesn't tell one the strength/toxicity of an acid. Rather a measure of the acid dissociation constant, indicated by the term pka, does tell one this. This is why Pepsi and coca cola are of low pH of 2.5 or even less (lower than Catayst Green products), but we still drink them, because they are of very weak acid. So, the lower the pka (that's the more negative they are), the stronger (and more toxic) the acid. Thus, the our products are of weak acid (of positive/high pka) and thus of no harm.
What tests are commonly run by other countries on your products?
Density, metals, pH, and electrical conductivity.
